ABOUT THE TUTOR

RAY SARLIN

Ray twice commanded two infantry companies in combat in Vietnam, and later commanded an Infantry Battalion Task Force in combat as well. In addition he commanded tank (Armor) companies in Europe and Military Police companies. He held senior staff positions in operations, logistics and emergency actions. In the latter role, he was involved in the Yom Kippur War.

A Distinguished Military Graduate of the University of Washington, Ray was commissioned as a Regular Army Officer in the Armor branch of the U.S. Army. He graduated from the Armor Officers Course, Infantry Officers Advanced Course, Nuclear Weapons Employment Course, Special Warfare School, Military Police Officers Advanced Course, US Army Command and General Staff College and numerous other military courses.
